Introduction
Trincomalee Power Company Limited (TPCL), a 50:50 joint venture between Sri Lanka’s Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) and India’s NTPC Limited, has officially announced an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) tender for its Phase-1 50 MW ground-mounted solar photovoltaic. From January 01, 2027, onwards, CEB will only accept Type Test reports from accredited independent testing laboratories (criteria (a) above). TPCL requires the bidders to supply solar modules and a BESS system and undertake the EPC activities, to supply solar modules and the BESS system.
