Find water storage projects

Creates reliable supplies for environmental, agricultural, and municipal uses 30 participating agencies representing communities across California. The California Water Commission is administering the Water Storage Investment Program (WSIP) to fund the public benefits associated with these projects. Sites Reservoir is a unique, multi-benefit water storage project that will capture and store water from major storms, so water is available to California’s communities, farms, and environment during dry periods. Any large-scale water storage project is complex and requires a high degree of planning, engineering, coordination — and significant financing. LADWP will be replacing the aging reservoir with two new underground, pre-stressed circular. The Bureau of Reclamation’s Small Storage Program was authorized by sections 40901 (1) and 40903 of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) to promote Federal assistance to enhance water storage opportunities for future generations in support of the Department of the Interior's.
