SPIC Zambia's latest project near Lusaka demonstrates what happens when you pair solar panels without proper energy storage: In 2024, we've deployed Zambia's first DC-coupled solar-plus-storage system using liquid-cooled lithium-ion batteries. It has presence in 46 countries and regions, including 37 countries along the Belt and Road, with businesses covering power project investment, EPC, power plant services, etc. Blackouts lasting 8-12 hours now plague urban centers - but wait, here's the kicker: the country receives over 3,000 hours of annual sunlight. It is slated to commence commercial operations by September 2025, aiming to supply electricity to a minimum of 65,000 households. Pre-fabricated containerized solutions now account for approximately 35% of all new utility-scale storage deployments worldwide.
